Son v Zimnyuyu Noch — ZIMA Gala, The Underglobe, London

Every January, ZIMA Magazine — London's leading Russian-language culture publication — hosts a black-tie gala for Old New Year, and this year I was the photographer behind the lens. Son v Zimnyuyu Noch ("A Winter Night's Dream") took over The Underglobe, the underground space beneath Shakespeare's Globe, for an evening of live music and theatre, including a rare, intimate performance from Boris Grebenshchikov.

My job was to move through the room and catch the evening as it actually unfolded — guests arriving, reacting, connecting between performances — rather than lining people up for posed shots. That's the same documentary approach I bring to weddings and family sessions: stay close, stay unobtrusive, and let the real moments carry the story.
